Travel Diary | Pacific NW #Vanlife Road Trip | Oregon & Washington

Dear Friends!

Summer might be over, but the memories of our Pacific NW Road Trip will never end. We rented a VW Vanagon that was older than either of us, for a two-week trip around Washington and Oregon.

We took a total of 5000 photos or something, so it took quite a while to get through them all, but it feels so good to go back and re-live the moments again and again. We explored National Parks, visited friends (old and new), and spent time with family up in Washington. It’s quite possibly the most free we’ve felt as adults, ever.

We spent a lot of time together on the road, windows rolled down, hair blowing everywhere, jamming to our fave summer tunes and talking about our dreams. I can smell the fresh mountain air just thinking back on this time. It was a magical and meaningful trip for us.

Our journey began in Seattle and made a giant loop through Portland, Columbia River Gorge, White Salmon, Trillium Lake, Bend, Crater Lake National Park, Astoria, the Oregon Coast, Anacortes (and accidentally Canada!) and explored until we were too tired to keep going.

The best part of this trip was just getting to play. Both physically during hikes and adventures, but with my camera. We got to take TONS of photos for 14 days straight. We got to play with night photography, in-camera double exposures, and just try new things without any pressure. We both fell in love with photography all over again and in a whole new way.

If you’re interested in more details about where we went, stayed, or need recommendations, let me know, we’d be happy to share! We hope you enjoy a taste of our travels.

Love,

Megan and Nate Graham
