Hip In-Home & Motorcycle Adventure Engagement Session // Washington, DC & Edward's Ferry, MD // Michelle + Alex

I am beyond excited to share Michelle and Alex’s engagement with you, because I just love these two so much.  Michelle and Alex are two of my most hip, stylish, cool, and fun friends. When they reached out about an engagement session, I am pretty sure I screamed.

They wanted to do something meaningful and unique to their relationship, so we planned a multi-part engagement photo session to capture the essence of their relationship.

We started off with an in-home lifestyle engagement photo shoot with their four adorable cats. I like to help couples feel “at home” so we often start with an activity to help everyone get comfortable. I had Michelle and Alex make each other a drink, turn on some music, and asked them questions about their love story!

We then took things outside and played in the alley before hopping on their motorcycle to head out to Edwards’ Ferry. You read that correctly. Their MOTORCYCLE. I told you they were cool! On our way out to Edwards’ Ferry things started to look gloomy, like the sky was about to dump a bunch of water on us. I asked them to pull over and shoot on a random roadway and then the sky opened up. They were such great sports about it!  

I love how these shots feel like stills from a movie. The rain, the moto, their home all felt so cinematic - like snippets from their indie film love story.
