Sunny Summer Skyland Wedding Photos // Shenandoah National Park, VA // Gordon + Jo

Oh my goodness. I’ve finally gotten a chance to sit down and write about Gordon and Jo’s adorable outdoor wedding at Skyland Resort. The last time I photographed a wedding on Skyline Drive, in the heart of Shenandoah National Park, I got magical fog, but the weather for G+J was the complete opposite. This time, Skyland Resort was bathed in sunshine - a perfect setting for their beautiful summer wedding.

Gordon is an environmental science teacher, and Jo is a park ranger, so naturally they gravitated to an outdoor venue for their wedding. They planned a low-key ceremony officiated by Gordon’s sister, and set aside time throughout their day to escape into the woods for time with each other (and of course, me).

I don’t usually get inquiries from the groom, but in every single one of these photos, you can see why Gordon took the lead on booking wedding photography. These two are totally smitten with each other, and their connection is just so visible in their wedding photos. It’s the kind of connection that makes you want to snuggle up to the person you love and just celebrate with them.
